We converted an old, bland concrete patio into a large outdoor entertaining space using two deck levels. A window was converted to a doorway in the kitchen allowing an upper deck to provide a transition from the house down to grade.
Sections of the concrete patio were removed to make way for new concrete pavers while portions of the patio were left in place to allow for a ground level deck to be built on a sleeper system.
A grill bumpout was added to dedicate space for a gas grill. A bench was originally in the design, but was eliminated during construction in lieu of additional railing.
