It's always great to add new outdoor living space to an existing home and that's exactly what we did with this project.
A unique feature about this Trex Transcends deck is the way we attached the deck to the house. Without getting technical, we thought outside the box and were able to build the deck to exceed code requirements without adding additional cost and the clients were thrilled.
Trex Transcends Spiced Rum and Lava Rock deck boards were used to create a two-tone effect along with Trex Vintage Lantern posts and rails.
Notice how the 1/2" black aluminum Trex balusters minimize the visual "heaviness" of the railing system and how installing a full size deck board along the top of the railing provides a ledge to place items on instead of a typical deck railing.
Landscaping will follow to enclose the underside of the deck but in the meantime you can see the helical piles that were installed in lieu of traditional concrete footings. The helicals are engineered to never sink whereas concrete footings tend to sink in the soil.
